Listed Building Refurbishment and Construction

Working across London and the home counties, we are healthcare building contractors with more than 40 years’ experience. Throughout this time, we have delivered a wide range of construction projects for the healthcare sector, including refurbishments, extensions, and remodelling work.

We have built long-standing working relationships with many of our clients thanks to our specialist skills, collaborative approach and strong reputation as a leading healthcare building contractor in London.

Our Skills

We have the skills to deliver construction projects of all sizes for the healthcare sector. From the refurbishment of healthcare facilities through to large-scale hospital extensions, we have the technical expertise to meet the high demands of the healthcare industry.

Our extensive experience means we understand the challenges of delivering these projects, including complex logistics, the need for scrupulous cleanliness and to minimise the risk of any potential disruption for patients and staff.

Healthcare building contractors must be skilled at working in live, operational buildings. To minimise disruption throughout the works, we liaise closely with our clients from the outset, providing a proactive and flexible approach.

All our work is meticulously planned, ensuring we deliver high quality healthcare developments to the safest standards possible.

Our Projects

Diamond Build PLC specialises in refurbishment and new build projects ranging from £2m – £20m. Diamond Special Works carries out refurbishment, repairs and building maintenance for projects up to £2m.

The quality of our work and proven track record in the healthcare sector have enabled us to forge strong partnerships with several of London’s NHS Foundation Trusts.

One example is Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. For this client, Diamond Build PLC refurbished and reconfigured a mother and baby unit at Homerton Hospital. Our team had to overcome various challenges, including eliminating noise and vibrations when the surrounding operating theatres were in use.

Extensive hoarding with prominent signage was also installed to segregate the works and ensure the safety of patients and visitors to the hospital.

For Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust, Diamond Special Works upgraded a mental health centre, delivering urgent works. New bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms were created while the facility remained in use. Achieving the highest standards of health and safety was paramount, requiring our team to adhere to strict access timetables and stay in constant communication with staff.

At Chase Farm Hospital, we have undertaken major refurbishment works on behalf of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust. Projects delivered at this hospital include the upgrade of a specialist unit for assessing and treating people with learning disabilities, which was carried out while the facility remained in use, requiring stringent health and safety measures.

Our Team

As specialist healthcare building contractors, we are a team of highly experienced construction professionals. Our directors have specialist knowledge, experience and expertise, and lead committed and talented teams.

We pride ourselves on our training and apprenticeship scheme, which sees us offer opportunities to people of all ages and levels. Our commitment to training is one of the reasons behind us achieving an Investors in People Gold Award.
