The contract consisted of a new build, two storey extension building to the main school, accredited to “Very Good” from BREEAM, and the existing Main Hall was also enlarged, requiring further structural alterations and service adaptations.

All phases of the works were undertaken whilst the school was fully operational, and our programme was pre-approved by Bexley and the school’s representatives, with our works carefully planned and supervised throughout. Construction activities were fully segregated and delivered safely and minimising disruption to the School’s daily timetables was another key concern. Our partnering approach included communication measures and briefing events for all key stakeholders, including Parents and Residents.

Achieving the “Very Good” BREEAM final assessment involved a close working relationship with the Architects, Client Representatives and Supply Chain. All works were isolated from staff and pupils, using a temporary false wall for the Main Hall works during the demolition and construction of new walls and new services upgrades, flooring, plastering, decorations. Detailed Site Access and Traffic Management Plans were pre-approved before works began and formed part of extensive communication activities, including Resident visits, community meetings, newsletters, website and social media posts with photographic progress reports.

“From the outset, Diamond Build have been an exemplary example of communication, delivery, contact and efficiency. As a large school we have experienced many different building contractors over the years and Diamond Build have been the most efficient and effective by far”. Diane Dryland, Head Teacher
