Diamond Build successfully completed the extensive two-storey, rainscreen clad classroom block for Merton. Our works included a new structural steel frame / decking and staircases, pre-cast concrete beam and block floors, flat roof system, roof hatches and external terrace, rainscreen cladding / mesh cladding, mechanical and electrical services, fire protection works, platform lift installation, internal fit out, suspended ceilings, glazed screens and timber cladding.

The new build block incorporated the latest ICT and special needs facilities for 3 -17 years pupils, and this SEN School’s existing classrooms, administration and staff rooms were also remodelled as part of the expansion. We ensured the Health and Safety of pupils and staff during our delivery to this live educational site, with in-house and external audits of procedures and traffic management. Segregation of our works minimised disruption and dust, and this highly sensitive environment also required our effective noise mitigation strategies.

As part of our appointment we organised a number of Fun Days for the School’s pupils with Ivor and Honor Goodsite presentations, health and safety assemblies, a safe site visit organised for the Pupil Council members and a nominated “Pupil Site Manager” who was given a named hard had and high vis with a responsibility for overseeing the works and reporting back to the School.

“Our experience with Diamond Build at Cricket Green was very good from day one! We felt included in the process, held by the skills and knowledge of the project manager and listened to when we had issues or concerns”. – Celia Dawson, Headteacher
