Social Housing Refurbishment Contractors

With more than 40 years’ experience, we are specialist social housing contractors operating across London and the home counties.  The work we do is varied, ranging from social housing refurbishment through to large new-build projects making us one of the leading social housing contractors in London.

In partnership with our clients, we deliver a wide range of social housing refurbishment services to estates and individual homes. Our team has the expertise and experience to deliver large scale upgrades, fit outs, repairs, internal and external decoration, window replacement, mechanical and electrical services, and fire door installations.

Our Skills

We understand the challenges and complexities of delivering construction services to the social housing sector. This has seen us work with local authorities and housing associations to deliver a wide range of projects, often in occupied premises, helping to improve homes and communities for people across London.

We have built long-standing working relationships with many of our clients thanks to our specialist skills, collaborative approach and proven track record in the social housing sector.

Social housing refurbishment contractors must be skilled at working in live sites and ensuring the needs of local residents and their wider communities are considered and addressed.

Our approach minimises any disruption for residents, prioritises their health and safety, and ensures they are kept informed about the project’s progress and any questions are responded to. This is achieved through our resident liaison officers who are highly experienced and skilled in working on social housing refurbishment projects.

Our Projects

We have forged a reputation in the social housing sector for delivering projects on time and within budget.

Diamond Build PLC specialises in social housing refurbishment and new build projects ranging from £2m – £20m. Diamond Special Works carries out social housing refurbishment, repairs and building maintenance for projects up to £2m.

Diamond Fire Safety works with local authorities and housing associations to ensure their social housing stock meets the latest fire safety standards.

Examples of Diamond Build PLC’s projects include phase three of Wandsworth Council’s programme of internal and external renewals. This project saw us work across 13 medium rise blocks and three low rise blocks comprising more than 300 homes.

Effective communications and resident liaison were key to its success and completing the refurbishment seven weeks ahead of programme. Cost savings were also secured, and the quality of our site management was recognised with a national Bronze Considerate Constructors Site Safety Award.

For another long-standing client, Islington Council, Diamond Build PLC is helping the local authority to bring 24 new council homes to the Harvist Estate in Holloway, near Arsenal’s football stadium. The £10m project will see our team construct a mix of one and two-bedroom flats as well as two, three and four-bedroom houses. The properties will be located on Citizen Road, which will also be reconfigured as part of the work.

Our Team

As specialist social housing contractors, we are a team of highly experienced construction professionals. Our directors have specialist knowledge, experience and expertise, and lead committed and talented teams.

We pride ourselves on our training and apprenticeship scheme, which has seen us offer opportunities to people of all ages and levels. Our commitment to training is one of the reasons behind us achieving an Investors in People Gold Award.
